which navigator have you used? only chrome works fine…
I managed to send another payment which has gone through, but the one from 2 days ago still just sitting there waiting to confirm!! Nothing to do with browsers, everything to do with an omniwallet issue I think
I did deposited more than 1€ worth of bitcoin, and the cost of a transaction is way less than that.
Now is too late anyway. I can’t undo a transaction.
Chrome
This is exactly the type of thing that makes me so skeptical of all this “built on the blockchain” technology. Can you imagine waiting two days to confirm things on ethereum, etc?
I know they claim to be handling it, but I don’t trust that the blockchain community can reach “consensus” on the project. lol!
Viewing their unconfirmed transactions always makes me frustrated because I have had coins take 2+ days to move around myself…
So, got through to the customer support. They were actually really helpful and got my funds sent back to my wallet. Apparently there was some issues, which there is now a patch for (or something to this effect).
Their reply
In the past few days it appears the Bitcoin network has started filtering/ignoring certain types of transactions. It appears your transaction was created in that newly ignored format. As of yesterday evening we put in place some patches to prevent the creation of these types of transactions within Omniwallet. As of this morning it appears your previous transaction was removed/pruned from the network and I’ve followed up to make sure Omniwallet properly updates itself as well. You should be able to retry your transaction. If you run into any issues please let us know and we will try to assist you
Are my coins lost after sending from omni to polo after the error message?
No, unless your wallet was hacked, like you created your wallet with a weak password for ex. You can create a new (different wallet provider) wallet and import your private key. This will take some time, but your MAID will show up in that new wallet.
There ya go, so at least they’re still maintaining their code! That’d be the biggest worry, they just stop maintaining their software, but this is extremely unlikely for a reputable company/service provider.
Can you see your balance go back to normal, I. E. The MAID you sent that were “pruned” were reset and put back in your wallet?
Bitcoin is slowly becoming the MySpace and it’s successor is currently being tested (can’t predict 100% what that will be of course).
Having said that, omniwallet was built on top of MasterCoin, which was built on top of Bitcoin. MC added after the fact transaction Metadata and there has been some criticism about the original architecture, offering zero beneficial features beyond Bitcoin. In any case, hopefully Omniwallet can hold it together until we can at least trade/import maidsafecoins for SafeCoin when the time comes.
I do see my balance now, yet when I try to send I get an error
General error. Contact a developer. Reason:
I will try to see what is going on now with their team and let you know
somehow one of yesterday transactions went trough even if was giving me the error.
Just updating everyone, everything is fine now. All my transactions went through.
