MaidSafe Dev Update - 30th August 2016

Just on that do we have many people from Germany here for German tutorials? My German is OK, nothing special but I quite easily get my wife to do some translation work in exchange for chocolate, that usually works

Even though I know next to nothing about systems programming, and even less about
Rust, some rudimentary C++ being the limit of my talent, reading @nbaksalyer’s blog
I found I could follow pretty much what was going on – just don’t ask me to do
it myself:slight_smile:. Very impressive, especially as English is not his first language.
Looks like @maidsafe made a good choice.

That’s the new SAFE Network brand id available for download: Providing Privacy, Security and Freedom | MaidSafe. We’re getting some wallpapers created as well, they’ll be added in the next couple of days. Apologies for the delay.

stitched them together (a bit haphazardly) and this is what I got… I think I like it

You know if you could make that seamless it wouldn’t be a half bad texture for modeling with.

FYI, when y’all get to the launcher API for low-level operations, please take a peek at the more recent round of questions I had posted at Discuss - 0028-launcher-low-level-api · Issue #115 · maidsafe/rfcs · GitHub. Sorry to be a pest. The main thing that concerns me that I don’t feel is addressed is the serialization and approach to data maps.

So, when the SAFE Network logo is repeated, it morphs into MaidSafe’s Penrose triangle. That’s a pretty neat coincidence.

Always happy when seeing this … they’re filling up slow but steady… vault1 somewhat 300MB, vault2 already 500MB or so :grinning:

React/Redux UI. Yes!! Great news.

Another fan! Care to chip in:

I like it but seriously suggest looking at react and not redux but mobx (take 2 mins here to watch this Sync the UI with the app state using MobX observable and observer in React | egghead.io ) It could reduce code, speed up development and simplify algorithms an awful lot.

Makes a lot of use of es6 things (mainly observables) which is cool with babel / webpack etc.

@nbaksalyar Nikita,

I presume you are the same Nikita that I was talking to about developing / rewriting my Java Chatbot in Rust for the SAFE Network?

Good to see you here! How is your health now?

Regards,
Phil.
