5,000,000 bytes seems to be the limit imposed by the Demo App for private files, dunno about Internet files. Shouldn’t it be higher than that? 5,000,000 bytes is about 4.7MB.
Yes, that’s the limit. On the account side (controlled by network) you’re limited at 100 units.
I believe the test app is limited because they are running nodes on droplets and are trying to ball on a budget and not have to pay for the extra storage until the network goes full tilt into the wild. When that happens the limit will be removed and the sky should be the limit…
& @Tim87 – true, I’m pretty sure the DHT is encrypted by design, so this type of public display app would have to be given access by core design, opening a potential can of worms, not to mention a security liability.

I’m struggling to login to an account… taking way too long and no response on multiple tries. One time I got in and then couldn’t get past the Demo app waiting for the confirmation. Something up… starting vaults also is not jumping alive in the way it did initially…
I’ve looked a bit but haven’t found what “MIO” means. Help?

Logged in… starting the Demo app… stopping the Demo app in the hope that it will initialise the second time… I notice that I don’t have to authorise it again.
Is there a risk there of another app jumping in as Sybil and pretending to be the authorised app?

I uploaded index.html etc. for my website, created http://music.audity.safenet, wanted to upload more content to enhance index.html but got distracted for half an hour. Launcher wasn’t connected anymore. I realized here that maybe it would be useful to be able to log off Launcher without having to restart it? (I didn’t see anything like that, possibly overlooked it.)
Dunno if related, but my Vault was repeating a large large block of text over and over again, something like this but bigger and infinite repeating:

Restarted both Vault and Launcher simultaneously, and both work properly again, so maybe not the best troubleshooting I could’ve done (which would have been to keep the Vault running, restarting the Launcher, though I don’t think they’re related, anyway). Regardless, both worked properly after restarting.
Successfully uploaded a 5MB OGG file into my personal files before getting distracted like I mentioned previously. The progress bar stays at 25% the entire time, though, at least when I’m trying to upload the same 5MB OGG to my website files.
There might be a problem with the communication between the Launcher and the Demo App for me, in some aspects (possibly from Launcher dropping out spontaneously throughout Test 3). Before successfully communicating, Demo App takes a long while to do so—if it doesn’t fail. I guess that’s to be expected, since this test claims that Launcher will often disconnect (and apparently files will drop out, which I don’t think I’ve experienced yet compared to the Launcher/Demo App communication problem). At least Launcher log-in success rate is 100% (after restarting Launcher).
After all that, did some more work on restarting all these EXEs. 2nd attempt at keeping Vault open the whole time, Launcher and Demo App behaved somewhat well. Then it got to the point where DA wouldn’t see L even after clicking Allow. It kept doing that over and over, no matter how many times I restarted L and DA, of course with the same Vault instance (I don’t know if that matters). Now with my 3rd Vault attempt, DA and L still are not seeing eye-to-eye after clicking Allow. Maybe I need to restart my Win7 computer…?
No good excuse… but that’s on the list for checking next time… I’m done for today as I can’t get much response from login and then Demo app; I’ll see if this testnet is up tomorrow evening and crawl them all again then.
I realize the problem might be I need to create a new account haha, even though it APPEARS like I successfully logged into launcher, but actually haven’t, because I try loading .safenet sites, and nothing loads. Well I’ll try creating a new Launcher account. (edit: someday I’ll remember you don’t need to log in to view safe sites. Demo App still not working well with the new log-in, though.) I got maze.safenet website to load LOL, but none others. My guess is that data is dropped and people are unable to get into Demo App to reupload? That’s why I can only get one SAFE site to load?
