Win win win! This is such an obvious yes for me. Hoping David gives the go ahead.
Remember that there is a group of people who want the price to stay low to buy cheap and for them is good if the team sell their coins cheaply. For them, this is a potential loss if the price goes upā¦
I really wish I knew who these enemies of progressā¦I meanā¦āgroup of peopleā isā¦
They wrote it in direct and straightforward text on this topic. I do not want to quote because I have nothing against the people themselves.
If you want you can read the topic again or I can send you quotes in a personal messageā¦
Obviously a solution that caters for everyone, is bestā¦ if ERC20 proves itself, then we all might want to follow.
Names of thingsā¦ the value in the market is abstract, until the network is live.
@Dimitar Remember that there is a group of people who want the price to bounceā¦ pump and dumpers leech! Still, no reason not to welcome a price that reflects the project utility and Omni has underwhelmed and is keeping us down.
All good aboveā¦ and something more coherent now that I hope can become substantial; potentially a lot of new users could be engagedā¦ though I donāt know the reality of how many people are engaged with ETH community.
@davidpbrown remember that the only people who have no choice and have to sell to feed their family and their newborn baby are team members.
Everyone else has an equal chance to speculate.
Edited (sorry @davidpbrown ):
But when someone say they (not @davidpbrown) want low prices and they voted NO they are neutral evil for me - they donāt care about the only people who have to sell at that low priceā¦
Where did you pull that from?.. I didnāt suggest I want low prices.
and obviously I voted NO because the proposal was not clear. Fortunately someone has stepped up with an ideaā¦ and a good one.
Sorry, Iām not talking about you, but about the group of people who enjoy the low prices and voted NO and about whom there was a question and I answered it.
I donāt really need to, but I would back and support such an effort as long as it was voluntary and I think @SwissPrivateBanker is saying exactly that. I cannot see a downside really. I would say and to anyone who can do this in a way that is open visible and verifiable. Itās a decent option for many I would imagine.
Great community effort as well, so I see a win win here.
Hey David,
can you say in plain text that the ERC20 MAID made in this way will be exchanged for a real safecoin?
It would be as itās a 1:1 swap.
Is this not asking alot, at conversion cant the erc be swapped back to omni.
Just seems more work at conversion time if were expected to deal with 2 chains rather than 1, which is specified at ico.
Iām totally for it if it helps ppl, just donāt want maidsafe to lose any of their runway if ppl are not happy somewhere along the way.
thatās really a must, to give comfort to the community. It has to be an official process supported by Maidsafe the company. There should be a public commitment that these ERC20 tokens will be redeemable for safecoins, just as an omni token.
Again, we are offering to work for free here for the benefit of the community but we might need to sign standard contractual agreements, to identify and formalize the role of the various parties (issuer- maidsafe, financial intermediary- Altcoinomy SA)
It has to be simple so as not to waste anyoneās time, but still, things shall be done formally imho.
Itās a generous offer, but here we begin to see that it requires effort and expenditure from Maidsafe which many of us do not want.
Thereās always risk too.
And Iām not at all convinced that people will get what they hope for with this move. Easier wallets, yes probably (although Omni wallet is pretty good IMO) but boosting the token is not guaranteed and if things go tits up somewhere the opposite can happen.
So personally I wonāt support this.
This is an amazing offer!
Please take them up on this @dirvine
We have operated KYC of more than 15 private sales and public sales, so we have these kind of contracts ready.
The goal here is to keep everything simple so we donāt distract David and the rest of the dev team. Donāt want to lose their time.
If I understand you correctly, the job of the MaidSafe team will be to sign a contract that will recognize the token. Will all the technical work be done by you and your team?
Even if for some reason we donāt get a price boost, which I think we will, at some point it needs to be made more accessible pre minting of real coins or we will be in the same boat as were are now. The only difference is we will have a viable product with many people left out of the buying pool.
One question I have:
Will there be a time limit on being able to switch from Omni to erc20? Or will it continue to be available until safecoin launches? The latter will obviously be better.
Correct.
All work will be done by the team in Geneva.
Why am I doing this ?
Me and some of my clients have been seating on a decent stash of Maidsafe coins. Definitely think it will beneficial to the project and will drive price appreciation.
I also have personal involvement in dex industry (bancor), and would love to see Maid traded there. I am sure it will bring new users there.
