No it doesn’t , it promotes censorship.
reddit has currently had their little “canary” removed showing that the government has requested information off of them.
Sub reddits are hugely controlled , censorship riddled messes , who shadow ban and perma ban people who state opposing opinions , not just someone who is intentionally trolling but someone who says “i don’t agree with such and such” have been banned and not just single cases but whole groups of people.
The news sub reddits remove certain news articles detailing certain world events that are not politically to their liking , and the moderators are emotional messes who control what is posted on their sub reddits .
same with wikipedia contributors who control the information regarding certain topics .
