How will the network determine over/under supply of storage?

I’m not even sure if this is how the network is intended to calculate over/under supply of resources, (by relying on what vaults say they are going to supply) hence why I posted.

I wonder if relying on reported size is reliable enough, or maybe would allow a potential attack (for example, lots of vaults being made to report vastly inflated spare capacity) . Better if the network can use trustable metrics. My non tech lady (she’s very good at answering these tech questions nonetheless) and I came up with a couple that might be used to adjust farming rate: vault fullness: look at how frequently vaults report they are full and can’t take a chunk. You are going to have to write without knowing the solution I think. The community often have debates about these kinds of issues, and then MaidSafe come in with their code (sometimes with community influence, but usually better ) and then that can evolve further during testing, until we get to find out how this network works!
