I disagree. Visibility is not the issue. By moving my replies which are in direct contradiction to the OP, the moderator makes it seem as if there is less dissent and basically grants a ‘soft victory’ to one side of the debate by allowing them to control the venue.
This is bias and completely inappropriate in a genuine search for the truth. As an example, I defeated you in debate and of course you’re taking a position that these posts should be moved elsewhere. That’s a conflict of interest and you sully yourself by engaging in that behavior.
Some interesting points and I’m glad for Dash’s success. I think there is room for all though and just experiments until collectively accepted by the majority. People will say or do things in ways we don’t like and can’t control but I’m not sure it’s worth your time or energy to fight it. Clearly you’re a bright fellow, happy to have you here. As with most I’ve encountered.
I’ve always seen moving convos to other threads as usually taking something slightly OT and placing it somewhere more relevant. If it’s visible chances are people will read it.
No sense in trying to win arguments nowadays. Maybe ever. Listening, taking consideration and respectfully agreeing or disagreeing reduces drag (pun intended).
Anyways now I’m off topic so I’ll bow out for now. Good stuff otherwise.
Thank you Nigel for your kind words as well as your insights. I usually don’t feel too good about arguing online for obvious reasons, but every once and a while you come across a person that’s reasonable, insightful and improves the overall discourse and mood with their presence. I feel that I’ve had that experience just from our interaction, and I once again thank you for your participation!
Enjoy the rest of the holiday weekend and GO MAIDSAFE!
little background Zcash was based on zerocoin privacy algorithm which was found to be leaking into overinflation. Also the Zcash initial co-founders where in a debate and they parted ways in a bad way. Plus a new COO came in and they created new algorithms and renamed the zcash coin to FIRO for it is a privacy* burning fire, sounds like a fiat coin.
Not strictly fungibility related, but this discussion is well worth watching for anyone interested in developing or using privacy coin tech. Peter is a lawyer who “gets it”.
