I’m talking about people comments on news sites. I have brought all the people around me into the crypto. The Bulgarian Safe Community is over 40 people…
Imo this demonstrates the need for PtP rewards.
The problem with the fact that 99.8% of humanity thinks the crypto pyramid scheme remains.
Let’s say you are a YouTube content creator and I come and promote Safe to you, telling you that you will receive money from PtP. You say:
– “Great!” and ask me how much $ you will get.
– “Well, you won’t get dollars, you’ll get tokens. But before that you have to buy these tokens with your real dollars in order to be able to upload content”
– “???”
Because of this fantasy, I think that the first users of Safe will be cryptocurrencies users, who accepted crypto as something real. And as we can see from other working products, people are more likely to gamble with the price of the tokens than to use them…
What I’m trying to say is that the network probably won’t be used much in the early years, which means that much of the inflation will be centralized in the hands of a few people. So we need to think about how we can allow more farmers into the network without depending on the use of the network. And if we can’t provide the network security in this option, we need to consider an option in which part of the inflation goes to a foundation to use the tokens to upload data to the network so that the network can allow new farmers and grow.
Totally agree.
Worth considering but I haven’t seen much support when you mention it.
I think we can just do it ourselves as you plan to.
I personally hope for the best and I think it is more likely that at this stage we will not have a problem with the use and growth of the network. But I want this danger (the network to grow very slowly) to be discussed in public, because if this happens and people expect incredible results, and we get weak ones, it can lead to an outflow of faith in the project and disastrous results.
That is why it is good to have a plan of action ready and for people to know that there are options so that they do not lose faith and abandon us…
I disagree. Forget about PtP for a moment. Sites like youtube and twitter have gone full blown 1984 on censorship and sending anything they don’t like down the memory hole. If Safe would have launched a few months ago there would currently be tens of millions of users just due to the US elections alone.
p.s. This thread is starting to veer off topic.
I don’t see the point of punishing full nodes.
- If nodes are required to be full for new nodes to be able join the network
- And nodes are incentivized to not be full
- That means nodes are incentivized to stop nodes from joining the network.
It doesn’t seem like something we want to incentivize.
I don’t know what other mechanism could be used to determine if new nodes should be accepted though. I think something like OPs solution sounds like it could work.
