As we gear up for our Discord Stage event on March 12, 2025 we want to make sure your questions get answered! To keep things organized and ensure we cover the topics that matter most to everyone, we’ve put together a Typeform where you can submit your questions in advance.
Imagine being on a dedicated forum for over a decade and then they’re like “Ha! Jk we’re moving all our communications to a service that you’ll never use because it goes against everything this project stands for. Want to know whats going on with the project? Tough luck.”
Did this event occur? What were the highlights? It’s frankly absurd that a bulleted list of highlights can’t be posted by someone from the team or community. Like for example, why should people build and share open source code with the community when it can’t even relay info with some typing?
The planned developer test network will be open to all developers, so you’re free to continue building as you were and use the test net when it becomes available. Participation in the program itself (and the rewards associated with it) does require an application and approval process, as this helps prevent exploitation.
End users will be able to get tokens to interact with apps on the test net, so people should be able to try out what you’re building, see its potential, and give feedback, exactly what you’re looking for.
Even if you don’t apply for the program, the broader initiative should still benefit you indirectly by bringing more people into the ecosystem, increasing the chances that your application gets discovered.
If you’re interested in more details, there will be a stage summary in today’s devblog announcement, and there’s also a voice note from Bux in Discord.
Thanks Rusty, that sounds good. The AlphaNet will be a helpful bridge between local development and operation on main net, so I’m pleased that it is open to all.
I hope IF will help others get going and build the community too. I had a quick read of the builders page but can’t say if it will work as hoped, but fingers crossed.
The most important step though is to get a functional network. When that happens we will have several impressive apps right away, and be able to demonstrate that the technical issues have indeed been solved.
When that happens I think things will improve on all fronts and we’ll have many more developers arriving.
