Source code is a pretty bad use case because of the small files.
Git (and commercial sites such as Github.com) solve the problem beautifully and for a very low cost (since you’d need a private repo) and for open source it’s even free with the whole stack integration (APIs, clients, QA, etc.). It’d take years to reach that level of sophistication.
I argued many times that data should be allowed to expire, aka Pay to Play, by the way.
