Roadmap looks really neat, and helps a lot to understand the structure of the project, what parts need what parts… Thank you very much for that !
How about drawing the arrow lines for incomplete components in grey / dots / pale / whatever specific drawing style that helps understanding the component is still missing / needs some care ?

Maybe I am spoiling next Dev Update, but another cause of delay that I don’t see mentioned here is that vaults have been restructured: immutable data managers now store directly the chunks. Beforehand they were sent to pmid nodes which were controlled by pmid managers. Now immutable data is handled like structured data.

Another persona that has disappeared is the mpid manager but I don’t see how mpid messages are now handled. So, it might be only temporary.
Now that’s what I call a roadmap! many great destinations to boot…

My brain hurts when I try to quantify the value of the network not in monetary terms but in its ability to provide solutions to so many popular and pertinent problems. I only wish that more people understood what is happening here and were able to share in the excitement. I feel honored to witness the birth.

I have to say that I can´t really understand the voices who say the roadmap looks amazing. Optically yes, kudos, but it doesn´t really carry a lot of information. Not even asking for date estimation - to me it´s just pretty unclear how to read it. I get that it´s mostly about task relations, but what means a check? Is it done? Still to be done? And a wrench? Working on it? Still to be worked on? The arrow colours and shades. Who works on what? And when you dive into some of items it gets really intransparent. On my Android it´s not working. Not saying you are not making good work, just pointing out that this roadmap needs improvement, otherwise it doesn´t serve its purpose.
To me this is an indicator of high pressure and that´s not good. I think people should step back even if they are just happily expecting news and let the developers do their work. Safe has been delayed many times - if the MVP is delayed another week or another month it doesn´t really matter (at least to me). To me it´s more important that the team takes the time it needs to put things out that work like charm.
Yeh i agree. Not too fussed about putting specific dates on every item, but it would be nice to have a bit of info that explains what a feature is, what it will do, and a rough order of events along with some alt text on those icons to explain their exact state. Still, its better than the nothing we had a few days ago though, and at least theres a foundation to be built upon now.

As you can see it’s pretty hard to see the arrows and what they are pointing to like this.
the check mark means it is done, and the wrench means it is being worked on (WIP), then there is some other icon that means it is not yet worked on.
well that is my best guess at least, since i couldnt find where the key was
I agree descriptions need to be added, also in not seeing the roadmap like the image above which is much nicer. I just see the tabs with no arrows
Thanks for the feedback, @Scott is looking at adding a legend at the moment and that will help make things a little clearer. Some of the other suggestions may take a little longer.
I’m quite curious to know more about this one. Maidsafe devs building their own smart contracts system? Or is it support for smart contracts? Where others can build smart contracts using datamanagers etc.
Yes there’s so much being revealed in the road map that it’s very exciting 
perhaps these are all such huge projects and there’s too much to say about each one, and that’s why there’s no available descriptions yet.
The ones that excite me the most are:

I expect a roadmap to show me what is done, what is coming, and what are blocking features I am looking for; it seems like I can gather that information from this roadmap.
As for a legend or additional information for the items, I’m sure those won’t be missing for long now that we expressed our interest 
Yeah I also got very excited at the prospect that Maidsafe will build over time these apps and features. It ensures legitimacy and trust , things which are very important for many people when using new apps or platforms.
This being said I wish we could fast pedal to 2020 to check out the status of the SAFE ecosystem. I think it is pretty cool
