I am about to release an app, that launches the network in browser with 1 click. I am only missing Anttp to be released as a library, not as a standalone app only. This is the last missing step. In max 3 weeks you will see 1 click solution for sure. Just download, exe, run it, pick a browser from you installed browsers and launch.
How?
Is she in it?
Even when you get it fixed, there is no way you can afford to have it shipped to Yoo-crane
Sry, not forgotten this one. Will get on it this week.
This will be so helpful in letting anyone have a go.
Looking forward to trying it out!

you should now be streaming the public domain movie ```Night of the living dead``
also the link will work in VLC media player if you select open network location if you preferer not to use your browser.
also if you set up a raspberry pi on you home network to run AntTp on you can use the VLC android app to stream direct from the network to your TV
@DavidMc0 I want a time from starting install to streaming I am betting you can have this up and running in jig time
Time to pull a few features together in release v0.7.0. The changes include:
/swagger-ui/
on your host (e.g. http://localhost:8080/swagger-ui
). You can do all the regular stuff like trying out endpoints, etc.Github: Release v0.7.0 · traktion/AntTP · GitHub
Dockerhub: (still playing up - need to change base image)
Cargo: cargo install anttp
Great instructions - worked just as you said
1 minute and 45 seconds from clicking on the Github link to the stream starting to play
Very cool to see!
I do feel that streaming video will be an important way of getting things going with Autonomi in terms of attracting new users. Who doesn’t get annoyed at constant youtube adverts?
I wonder if there is any direct competition to Autonomi where I could, within 2 minutes be streaming a movie in high quality from a permissionless, decentralised network?
If there is, I have yet to find it (feel free to link to one if it exists (edit: see note)… if there’s not… the revolution has begun
Note: Possibly Odysee, but Arweave is not used for most streaming, and the website isn’t decentralised… so not quite the same things as Autonomi where the front end is up-for grabs and all data is streamed from nodes on a decentralised permissionless network)
I’d love to play with this but…

Could @Traktion and @happybeing please get on with their fight in the playground to see who gets port 8080?
I suggest @happybeing takes 8082 and @traktion uses 8083
Too many other non-Autonomi projects will want 8080 anyway, 8081 is also occaisionally used and so is 8088.
But right now I need to shut down dweb and all that depends on it to watch “Night of the Living Dead”
You can just specify a different port with a CLI argument, e.g. anttp.exe -l 0.0.0.0:7890
If folks just use the proxy, it would make life easier, as then the port isn’t part of the URL. Maybe that will be easier soon and making the switch will be less disruptive.
here is a website to go with that an open source template i just chucked up

This works great! I’m loving watching this classic on Autonomi. Amazing work.
Me
I have a pi-hole and YouTube keeps it well stuffed
Very cool, the video started streaming quite quick. Saw one error, don’t know if it is significant but I post it.
8086 and 8087 also good choices :0
Today, I’m watching the night of the living dead on Autonomi.
Some relatives come over.
I told them once about Autonomi, but they were vaguely interested. Just more of my tech nuttiness they have grown familiar with.
I told them to come into my office to watch a movie, on my windows machine. I told them they are witnessing history.
They told me, we know this movie, it’s an old one, and it started the Zombie thing.
I said the history is not the movie, it is the network it’s streaming on, it’s the Autonomi network.
Suddenly a light went on. Wow they said, amazing, Suddenly everything I once explained about the network seemed to come rushing back to them, and they were instantly impressed.
Seeing is believing I guess.
Autonomi is about to be seen.
Interesting… I assumed that wouldn’t work for YouTube with them pushing YouTube premium & would gave thought it’d be easy to detect. I’ll give it a go!
Absolutely. Telling someone why an idea is good is fine, but it will seem far more real when they can see it working & use it.
Then, the benefits aren’t just an idea; they’re an option.
A collection of decent public domain movies & music with a nice UI to access them on Autonomi should be easy to achieve, and be a cool way to get people trying it out.
I just have the ad-block on my browser and never an advert in sight. Years and no problem
